The UK’s largest independent cider maker, Aston Manor Cider, has been profiled in a new book celebrating 750 years of parliament in Britain.

The editorial contribution from Aston Manor Cider appears on page 328 of The Story of Parliament: Celebrating 750 years of parliament in Britain at Westminster Abbey, which was published by St James’s House Media in collaboration with The History of Parliament Trust.

Under the section, Industry Champions, Aston Manor Cider is merited as being at the forefront of the cider revival. Covering the awards and achievements gained by the business recently, it is also noted how Aston Manor Cider has continued to expand its capacity and capability and help drive sector growth.

The new book celebrates the 750th anniversary of Simon de Montfort’s Parliament of 1265—a key moment in the origins of parliament. It was launched at a champagne reception in the Cloisters of Westminster Abbey with more than 300 VIP guests.

Written by a team of experts on parliamentary history, The Story of Parliament charts the rise of parliament in Britain over the centuries and explores how it has been instrumental in shaping the country as we know it today.

The feature on Aston Manor Cider in the commemorative book isn’t the first time the Midlands-based business has been acknowledged by the Government. In 2013, managing director Gordon Johncox participated in a trade mission to China. Joining Prime Minister David Cameron, Gordon represented Aston Manor Cider as the only drinks business invited on the journey.

Aston Manor Cider has also hosted several government figures at its production sites including Dominic Jermey, chief executive of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and most recently Mark Garnier, Conservative MP for Wyre Forrest.
