This position is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the Compliance Team based out of our Tiverton site. This role would involve ensuring all aspects of Compliance on site are adhered to involving both legal and technical aspects.
You will be expected to liaise with other members of the Compliance team and all other departments within the business.
This is a hands-on role, reporting directly to the Compliance Director who is based at the Witton site.
The ideal candidate will ideally have a wide range of legal and technical experience within a Food manufacturer and have recent experience in dealing with both internal and external customers at varying levels of seniority, in particular in dealing with Retailers.
The role involves the ability to prioritise and organise an often varying and changing workload with differing levels of pressure and always maintain a positive can do attitude.
The candidate would need to be prepared to travel occasionally within the UK to our other sites and customer offices, so a driving licence would be preferable.
Responsibilities:
- You will be the lead site contact for any technical audits including BRC GS Food Standard and any Retailer specific audits including booking audits, being the main contact on site when audits are taking place, dealing with Corrective Actions and following up any non-conformances.
- You will be involved in training members of staff on compliance and audit issues.
- You will be responsible for implementing the Food Safety Culture Plan including the Pulse Cultivate system.
- You will be involved in internal audits to ensure BRC GS and Customer requirements are met and also housekeeping and hygiene audits to ensure the site is of an acceptable standard.
- You will also audit External suppliers and service providers to ensure technical and ethical standards are adhered to.
- You will be responsible for the document control of all relevant documentation at the Tiverton site and update when appropriate.
- You will be responsible for management of the Pest Control contract on site and ensure visits are conducted where appropriate and any actions followed up and closed out.
- You will be a key member of the HACCP team and attend regular meetings and update the HACCP plan when needed.
Experience/Skills:
- Good Knowledge of BRC GS Food Audits and other retailer audits
- Experience of HACCP systems
- Experienced trainer
- Have conducted audits both internal and external
- Customer service focused, comfortable in difficult situations
- The ability to build strong, strategic relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to operate at all levels
- Ability to use own initiative to make reasoned decisions for the needs of the business
- Innovative thinking to improve current processes and methods
- Experience of SAP systems
- A flexible and adaptable approach
- A team player who is hardworking, self-motivated and proactive
Qualifications:
- Driving Licence preferred.
- Degree preferable.
- A Level education. Relevant equivalent (Minimum NVQ 2)
- Qualifications in HACCP desirable.
